What You'll Do

The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and providing insight into the financial health and performance of the business. Reporting into the Director of Finance, this role plays a key part in maintaining strong accounting practices and supporting operational efficiency across the company.

The responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

Support in the full cycle accounting and month-end close process; including maintenance of supporting working papers, monthly journal entries, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
Perform all accounts payable and receivable duties, including invoicing and processing refunds, managing billing account inquiries and customer follow up.
Collaborate with the Customer Success team to address client billing and refund questions.
Oversee payroll functions, including, bi-weekly payroll processing for salaried employees, administering RRSP contributions, and reviewing expense reimbursements and processing contractor payments
Prepare and file HST returns and monitor completion of US sales tax returns.
Assist with government funding submissions for various government funding (ex. ACOA, IRAP, GTO, etc).
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support business decisions

About You

Qualifications and Skills:

2 years + experience of working in a similar role
Organized and eager to learn & grow
A great team player, willing to jump in and lend a hand
Killer organizational skills and attention to detail
Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards
Strong experience with bookkeeping and accounting procedures
Experience in processing payroll for salaried employees
Excellent practical experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Experience with Xero, Maxio and Stripe will be considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
SaaS company experience will be considered an asset, but not required
