About The Role

The Full Stack Engineer holds solid experience in system design fundamentals, understanding scale, architecture concepts, operational considerations, and the trade-offs involved in different technical approaches.

What You’ll Do

Leadership:

Contribute positively to team discussions and decision-making.
Support team goals by balancing immediate tasks with longer-term improvements.
Engage and collaborate with the Engineering team with a focus on continuous improvement.

Development:

Perform coding tasks efficiently, to high levels of quality, with clear and concise documentation.
Participate in infrastructure changes and maintenance as required.
Contribute to improving the technology of the application over time.
Write valuable automated tests to ensure quality deliverables.

Collaboration:

Work to understand the product from the customer’s point of view.
Participate in and supports initiatives outside of their main area of responsibility when appropriate.
Deliver, receives, and implements constructive feedback in a team-based environment.
Communicates with the team in a professional and friendly manner.

Production Support:

Participates in production deployments
Assists in resolving production and infrastructure issues by monitoring logs and other data.

Problem Analysis:

Works with team members to discuss problems and possible solutions for tasks or projects.
Constructively raises questions and seeks clarity when needed.
Supports in-depth problem analysis of application infrastructure and code when required.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience working with Node, React, Typescript, and MySQL or DynamoDB.
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architecture fundamentals, and best practices.
Experience working with React in production, including communicating with Back End API services.
Understanding of common programming paradigms and fundamental React principles such as components, hooks, and lifecycle concepts.
Familiarity with tools such as Redux, Webpack, Enzyme, Jest, Babel, ESLint, and/or Flux.
Experience contributing to architecture and design discussions for moderately complex systems.
Understanding of modern development best practices and the tools needed to build, deploy, and release high-quality solutions.
Experience with automated testing including unit and end-to-end testing.
Experience working with AWS is an asset.
Strong communication skills, capable of discussing technical topics clearly, while providing & receiving feedback positively.
